Look what the cat dragged in…
HELLO BLOG!!!
I know i’ve been ignoring my blog lately, and i’ll blog more about that later!
I’m glad to say the new studio space is mostly set up (had our first class here last week), my father is doing fine, and business is bustling.
I’ve been working on our next class here, a combination of collage and watercolor, and perhaps a self-portrait (yes, this is me and my cat Cosgrove) For those of you who have met Cosgrove you know that she often gives me *this* look you see in the painting here, this look of absolute disdain and she thinks to herself “What now?!”
Join me on Sunday, May 22nd (sorry it’s so far away – with National Scrapbook Day, my cousins wedding etc etc this just seemed like the right time although as I type this I realize that it’s a long weekend here and…..)
Each student will need an 8×10 canvas, artists quality acrylics, paintbrushes of your choice, foam brush, a piece of patterned paper, pencil, eraser, sketchbook (if you have one) and watercolor pencils if you have.
We will discuss mediums to use when creating a collage, shading basic shapes, creating textured backgrounds, painting lifelike eyes and more! You will create your own character and a sidekick, so think about who / what that will be
Cost: $45.00
Sunday May 22nd at 1pm (let me know if another weekend seems better, i’m flexible)

Market Street – Vintage Wallpaper
When I found out that I was going to get to do a sneak peek using Vintage Wallpaper, I literally danced around squealing. I *heart* this stamp. I knew immediately that I wanted to stamp on fabric with it, so here’s what I came up with below. The stamp is a beautiful vintage damask pattern, that’s a little rough around the edges. Using VersaMagic ink in Turquoise, I stamped onto a thin cotton that was pulled tight. See all the new stamps later this week at Market Street

Montreal Class Alert – Steampunk Couture
April 3rd 2011 @ 1pm in the Paper Candy Workshop (located inside Sparkles 5615 Monkland)
Cost: $45.00
Join me as I help you create from cover to cover, a Coptic stitched hand bound book. With a beautiful open spine, you will master the kettle stitch and learn how to attach chipboard covers.
Once you finish binding your 64 page journal, you’ll move on to creating a steampunk chic cover working with aluminum foil tape , dry embossing, washers and more.
Coptic stitched books have pages that lay perfectly flat when opened so this book is a fantastic start for creating a one of a kind art journal!

Market Street – HOP HOP HOP
You probably found your way here from Tracy’s blog! Yay! I love Blog Hops
If not make sure to start at the Market Street Stamp Blog for details on how you can win win win!
Above is a card I used creating the following the awesome stamps: Hearts a Plenty (new stamp!) and Follow Your Heart (easily my fav Market Street set!)
I used an awesome VersaMagic Chalk ink on the background, which Market Street is going to be carrying! Yay! I stamped the background image with clear ink and clear embossing powder onto kraft cardstock and then heated it. I took a sponge and added the ink colors directly onto the stamped image. The stamped image will resist the ink, giving you an awesome textured background!
Now, there are prizes to won during this hop, so leave a comment here (and at every other blog!) and head on over to the next one – which is our fabulously talented leader Angelica!
